Jillian Gibson, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma moved to Sakété, Benin to join Jon and Ashley in January 2014.
In 2007, she earned her BSN from Southern Nazarene University, and her Masters in 2011 from the University of South Alabama. Jillian first came to Benin in 2012 as a three month volunteer and fell in love with the project and kids of the orphanage. She saw a great need during her initial stay and decided to move to Benin full time to help the kids at the orphanage, the community, and also help and support Jon and Ashley in whatever was needed. Jillian has been very effective in providing quality healthcare to the kids in our programs as well as many others in the surrounding community of Sakété. She has been influential in the development of the Infant Formula Program, of which she is very passionate and does an excellent job in helping to provide a new start for these babies. Jillian is also very eager to do whatever else is needed and asked of her for the benefit of the organization. She loves her role as “Tata”, which means auntie, to the kids, but our family in Benin lovingly refers to her as “Tats”.
